What Can You Do?The goal of The Shark Fund is, at minimum, to
bridge the gap between what Malibu High School receives per pupil ($4,900)
and the national average ($6,911). Obviously, asking for $2,000 per
student is a lot.
We truly hope that you will be as generous as possible, giving at least
$500 per student. There are currently 1,270 6th through 12th grade
students at Malibu High School. If every family gives $500 per
student, we would raise $635,000. To help make this as painless as
possible, you can simply pledge $40 per month, per student, on your credit
card. For those of you who can afford private schools, but also
value the quality of education and spirit that Malibu High provides, we
ask that you consider a substantial tax-deductible contribution.
Remember, a $10,000 tax-deductible donation bridges the $2,000 gap for
five MHS students!
Our equally important goal is 100% parent participation
- up from 20% support of the PTSA in 2001 and 40% support in 2002.
We hope that all parents will support The Shark Fund with some financial
contribution - regardless of the amount. Even $20 is greatly
appreciated. Find a way to be involved!

The Shark Fund is a registered non-profit California corporation. All
contributions are tax deductible under Federal and California tax laws.
Regardless of your donation amount, you will receive a confirmation letter
in the mail which can be used for tax purposes.

Many companies match
donations by their employees to charitable and other nonprofit
organizations. This is an excellent way to increase your donation to The
Shark Fund. The company’s matching fund contribution counts toward your
donation.

The
Shark Fund would be happy to mail a current information package to anyone
you feel would be interested in our cause. Relatives (grandparents,
aunts, uncles, etc.) are often happy to contribute towards improving their
